About
Sarah Jordison is a visual artist working primarily with gouache on paper to create bold, colourful and stylised paintings. Her Heirloom and Château de Versailles collections are inspired by her fascination with historical objects, artefacts and buildings.
“I have always been fascinated by objects, artefacts and buildings from Bygone Eras. There is something special about their design and craftsmanship compared to the mass-produced objects so readily available today.
My Heirloom Collection is an ongoing exploration of the deconstruction and reconstruction of the visual elements of antique vases to create imagined still lifes.
My Château de Versailles Collection was inspired by a trip to Paris in 2014. The paintings are bright and bold with oversaturated colour and textured marks. They explore how complementary colour fields can create depth of field.”
Sarah currently lives in Canberra Australia and paints part-time.
