Heirloom Collection
I’m proud to introduce my new Heirloom Collection!
The collection is an ongoing exploration of the deconstruction and reconstruction of the visual elements of antique vases to create imagined still lifes.
I have always been fascinated by objects, artefacts and buildings from Bygone Eras. There is something special about their design and craftsmanship compared to the mass produced objects so readily available today.
The paintings Meissen I and Meissen II are in direct response to a vase made in 1750-1800 by the Meissen Porcelain Factory. The vase is currently held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
